Background
The Europa Tool Company is a large Korean manufacturer of world renowned precision tools and machinery. Located in the West Midlands, Europa Tool had been at their existing warehouse for several years and required a relocation solution to move them to bigger and more presentable facilities. The search to find the right company to relocate them was on.
Challenges
The challenge; to move the entire warehouse contents over one weekend and have it all back in place at the new warehouse by Monday morning ready for business! Thousands of boxes of stock, hundreds of rows of racking, heavy machinery parts, office furniture and masses of supporting paperwork. Moving this volume of items in such a short space of time would require a well organised company capable of planning such a project and with a huge coordinated team effort actually delivering the solution. Europa Tool had come to the right place.
Approach
As with all large commercial moves, two senior Why Wait Commercial Removals’ surveyors and a project manager were to first visit the client to discuss their requirements and to conduct a detailed survey. Once all of the necessary information had been captured, a removal solution was designed and an accurate quotation calculated. Removal solutions are presented to our clients along with the quotation, which gives our experienced staff an opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of the customers relocation requirements and provides an excellent opportunity to answer any questions or concerns associated with a large move.
Preparation & Planning
Preparing for a move is always important, even more so when a move is particularly big or when the timeframe is very demanding. To ensure all moves are well planned and prepared, several visits are made by senior operations and surveying staff prior to the move to provide advice and ensure everything is progressing on schedule.
Europa Tool had chosen to receive assistance in packing their entire warehouse, which was understandable as there were over one million tool pieces. Packing staff were needed to provide the extra manpower necessary to pack and label all of the tool pieces as efficiently as possible, any minor issues could result in downtime and delays to Europa Tool’s customers. Moving with no downtime is a common requirement of many commercial moves and is taken very seriously.

After several months of careful planning, continual review and three days of intense activity, Europa Tool Company had been successfully moved to a new modern warehouse. Over one million tool pieces had been relocated to their new position and everything went exactly as planned.
